Mara Lindqvist - Photographer Portfolio Concept
An editorial, film-photography portfolio concept - a finished, customizable website template available to license or commission, not a live site. A single long-scroll narrative with a magazine-style hero, a full-bleed lead frame, five photo series, an about chapter and a contact close, in a quiet terracotta-and-cream art direction. Zero runtime dependencies - hand-written HTML/CSS plus a little vanilla JS - so it loads instantly and re-skins in an afternoon for any photographer or studio.
Scope: Solo design + build: art direction, type system, custom cursor + scroll-reveal motion, five-series layout, fully responsive - dependency-free. A concept, not deployed - available to license or commission.
An editorial, film-photography portfolio concept - a finished, customizable website template available to license or commission, not a live site. Built for a fictional Lisbon photographer, it pairs a quiet terracotta-and-cream art direction with a single long-scroll narrative: a magazine-style hero, a full-bleed lead image, five photo series, an about chapter and a contact close. Zero runtime dependencies - just hand-written HTML/CSS and a little vanilla JS - so it loads instantly and is trivial to re-skin for any photographer, studio or creative.

The Challenge
Most photographer portfolios fall into one of two traps: heavyweight site-builders that bury the work under templated chrome and slow third-party scripts, or bespoke builds that cost more than the shoot. A working photographer wants something that feels like a printed editorial - typography-led, calm, fast - that they can actually own and edit without a framework, a CMS subscription, or a developer on retainer. The brief was a portfolio concept refined to a sellable standard: distinctive art direction, real motion craft, and a codebase so simple a non-developer can swap the images and copy and ship it.
The Solution
A single-page, long-scroll portfolio built with nothing but Vite, hand-authored HTML/CSS and vanilla JavaScript - no framework, no runtime dependencies. The art direction is editorial and restrained: a Newsreader serif paired with JetBrains Mono labels and a Caveat handwritten accent, a cream canvas with a single terracotta highlight, a fixed scroll-progress bar and an animated film-grain overlay. Motion is bespoke and tasteful - a lerped custom cursor that swells to a "VIEW" disc over imagery, Intersection-Observer scroll reveals (fade-up text, clip-path image wipes), a magnetic email link, a looping discipline ticker, and a live Lisbon clock - all gated behind prefers-reduced-motion and disabled on touch. The structure runs hero (`#top`) → full-bleed lead frame → five captioned photo series (`#work`) → an about chapter with client/recognition lists (`#about`) → a contact close with represented-by and social columns (`#contact`). Fully responsive with fluid clamp typography, accessible, and dependency-free so the buyer can drop in their own photographs and copy and deploy it anywhere.

“Mara is a piece of art direction as much as a build: a film-photographer portfolio finished to editorial standard, with bespoke motion and zero dependencies so the owner can re-skin it in an afternoon. It is the clearest sample of the design eye I bring to client work - and the concept is available to license or commission.”
